Thanks for your note. I am afraid I will not be able to be phisically at the PLE Conference. Got lots of work. Anyway, I will try to follow it online and participate that way. :-)
Welcome to the PLE Conference Social Site.
The PLE Conference is intended to produce a space for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas, experience and research around the development and implementation of PLEs including the design of environments, sociological and educational issues and their effectiveness and desirability as (informal) learning spaces.
This is a place for everyone interested in connecting to other people interested in learning and discussing about PLEs.
So, whether or not you will be attending the event, please feel free to join this space.
Hopefully it will enable opportunities for people to learn from each other, and who know, even develop joint conference proposals ;-)
further information about the event can be found here

Hello. I did not attend PLE2010- but hope to attend the next PLE conference. I am interested in the concept of the convergence of ePortfolios and PLEs. Just wondered who else has been pondering convergences to more holistic frameworks. Cheers Len

Hello everyone ;) thinking ... thinking ... thinking Wondering if we should use this "PLE Conference" strength and try to build something more stronger... I don't know exactly what do you, but I think we should do something :) We could try to build a collective blog, a community, a blog/site aggregator... or something really different... something "un-" :) Please tell me if it is possibly or that I'm just dreaming...
Here the poster I presented at the Conference!

Alec and I would like to ask for your help with the opening keynote: Alec Couros and Graham Attwell have been paired together as co-keynotes at the PLE Conference in Barcelona, Spain, July 8-9. The organizers have asked us to do something different than a typical keynote, so we have been thinking about an unKeynote format. In keeping with the theme of the conference (PLEs), we’re hoping that individuals in our network would be willing to help us ... [read more]
We will held a workshop related to the "institutional" vs "personal" component within PLEs. We expect lots of discussion about this "hot" topic :) Hope you could join us and share your thoughts about our approach at the University of Aveiro with the SAPO Campus project. SESSION TYPE: Debate (This house believes) DURATION: 45/60 minutes TITLE: "What's the role for institutions in PLEs? The case of SAPO Campus" INTRODUCTION: SAPO Campus is an integ... [read more]
Having fun designing my badge: now I really must get on with some work!
Wanna join me and José Mota? The workshop will explore and discuss the possibilities of using Twitter as the heart of a Personal Learning Environment and how, through Twitter and its related applications, one can develop and maintain an effective network and an aggregated online presence. Due to the huge potential of Twitter as a network building tool, connecting people and resources, it can be construed as the “pump” that keeps the flow going, f... [read more]

Many of us are arriving to Barcelona early this week. In fact there are some already on their way ( hello @gcouros :-)! ) If you follow @PLE_BCN and @lindacq http://twitter.com/lindacq/status/17633449247 you've probably heard that there will be an informal opening of the conference on Wednesday after the ROLE pre-workshop. It's more of a get-together...just to start breaking the ice! We will probably go somewhere for a meal too so do show up if y... [read more]

Just wondering why my Twitter feed is not showing in my profile. Do you guys log in here with your Twitter nick? I have seen that option, but I log with my email, maybe that is the difference? Not a big deal, but I'm just curious. [[[Never mind, I got it now]]]
Gadzooks - Crowdvine tells me my network is empty. How does this make me feel (sob). No, I'm Ok.... really, I'm alright... Hello everyone. Looking forward to meeting you all in Barca!
Dear all, The countdown is on. We are less than three weeks away from the 'D" day. Who would have thought? We started planning this a year ago and it seemed so, so far off. But now the time has come. We are finalising the programme, which we will soon publish online. As you might be aware, we have challenged our keynote speakers to abandon the traditional keynote format in favour of a more interactive presentation which would both match their per... [read more]

E tendremos de celebrar su trabajo cuando estaremos todos juntos en Barca!
Mi español es tan pobrecito. Madre mía!
In our conference blurb we said this event would create a space for open and informal discussions about PLEs and education. Well, we meant it! And now here we are! :-) The organising committee has got together to re-think the keynote format. After many neurons gone... we think we have come up with a way of getting both face to face and online participants actively involved in the keynote sessions. None of that 50minute lecture +10 minute question... [read more]
